Comments About Casa do Amarelindo

From before arrival to help personally arranging our complex travel to the next spot on our itinerary, the kind pros at Amarelindo outdid themselves. The breakfasts included homemade cakes and the freshest fruits and juices and their on-site cuisine was superb. The other pousadas look like jails in comparison to the exquisitely appointed tasteful art, airy architecture, huge bed and imaginative bath of ours. AND a little pool overlooking the busy harbor topped it off. Que legal !!

This is a wonderful pousada, conveniently located with the most friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in two different bay-facing rooms with small balconies, and the sunset view of the harbour was very nice, despite having an industrial feel from numerous cargo ships waiting to dock. The rooms were tastefully decorated and had all the conveniences for any traveler. My only caution would be to elderly or handicapped travelers, who should ensure that they can comfortably get in and out of the fancy bathtubs/showers in certain rooms.

This is a truly beautiful and gracious hotel. Set in the middle of the action of the old city, it is really a harbor of peace and luxury. The swimming pool overlooking the bay is the icing on the cake. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff very friendly, well informed and helpful on all occasions. A must in Salvador, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Our second stop on our honeymoon was Casa do Amarelindo. From the extremely welcoming front desk to the unbelievably huge bed this was a really incredible hotel. We loved the little pool overlooking the city, great for a night swim before a cocktail..! A real oasis of calm and luxury, wonderful.

We came to Brazil in May 2010 to visit our daughter and stayed at Hotel Casa do Amarelindo for 4 nights. The hotel was perfect for our trip and it was hard to find fault with any aspect of our stay. The hotel in a late 19th century Pelhourinho house owned by Gilles and Didier from the south of France has been thoughtfully and stylishly designed and fitted out. The reception staff were excellent and willing always to provide helpful suggestions about were to go and what to see. We booked a superior room and were delighted to be told on arrival that we had been upgraded to a de-luxe room. The air-conditioned room was on the third floor at the rear of the hotel and had a small balcony with a sea view. It was quiet, clean, looked newly decorated and was extremely comfortable with a more than generous 8ft wide bed! The bar and restaurant were served by extremely friendly and attentive staff for whom nothing was too much trouble despite the language challenges on both sides! The food was delicious, particularly the stunning breakfasts consisting of fresh fruits (Mango, Papaya, Pineapple), freshly squeezed juices, the best scrambled egg outside the UK and breads with Guava jam. After a busy day sightseeing the hotel was a welcome haven of peace and quiet, and sipping Caipirinhas beside the rooftop pool in the evening sun a perfect end to each day.
