Pousadas in Barra Grande
Barra Grande is the main port of entry into the Peninsula of Maraú and is the place the boats come in from Camamú on the mainland. Access is restricted not because cars are actually banned (although boats from Camamú do not carry cars) but because much of the peninsula is served by dirt or sandy tracks which are impassable by most vehicles when it rains.
The village itself is lively with loads of bars, restaurants and pousadas. We personally prefer the pousada accommodation in Taipus de Fora 20 minutes away (see Maraú Peninsula- Taipus de Fora) and Lagoa do Cassange 40 minutes away by taxi or "jardineira" truck with seats (see Maraú Peninsula- Cassange) but there are many pousadas here in Barra Grande as well, some right on or only a stone's throw from the beach.
At the moment we do not have any recommended pousadas here. If you would like to recommend a pousada in Barra Grande, please contact us.
