GETTING TO UBATUBA, SÃO SEBASTIÃO & ILHABELA
There is no mystery around getting to Ubatuba or São Sebastião in Brazil’s state of São Paulo, from Rio de Janeiro. Both cities sit along the Costa Verde, ‘Green Coast’, which runs from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo along the main highway. Getting there by car is easy and there are several bus options to take you there directly from Rio and São Paulo. Accessing Ilhabela however, does require getting a ferry or boat from São Sebastião, as there are no roads to reach it.
FROM RIO DE JANEIRO
From Rio de Janeiro drive southwest on BR101 past Angra dos Reis
and Ubatuba is the next stop (310 kms). After Ubatuba along the BR101 is São Sebastião (385 kms) where Ilha de Toque Toque Boutique Hotel
is situated and access to the pousada is just off the main coastal highway between São Sebastião and Maresias.
By Ferry: In order to get over to the island of IlhaBela you will need to get a ferry. The ferry departs every 30 minutes and takes about 15 minutes.
